The Secret
One day, one friend asked another,
'How is it that you are always so happy?
You have so much energy,
and you never seem to get down.'
[]

 [][]
With her eyes smiling, she said,
'I know the Secret!'
'What secret is that?'
To which she replied,
'I'll tell you all about it,
but you have to promise to
share the Secret with others.'
[]
[][]
'The Secret is this:

I have learned there is little I can do
in my life that will make me truly happy
I must depend on God to make
me happy and to meet my needs.
When a need arises in my life,
I have to trust God to supply
according to HIS riches.
I have learned most of the time
I don't need half of what I think I do.
He has never let me down.

Since I learned that 'Secret', I am happy.'
[]
[][]
The questioner's first thought was,
'That's too simple!'
But upon reflecting over her own life
she recalled how she thought a bigger house would make her happy, but it didn't!
She thought a better paying job
would make her happy, but it hadn't.
When did she realize her greatest happiness?
Sitting on the floor with her grandchildren, playing games, eating pizza or reading a story, a simple gift from God.
[]
[]
Now you know it too!
We can't depend on people to make us happy.
Only GOD in His infinite wisdom can do that.
Trust HIM!
And now I pass the Secret on to you!
So once you get it, what will you do?
[]

[][]
YOU have to tell someone the Secret, too!
That GOD in His wisdom will take care of YOU!
But it's not really a secret...
We just have to believe it and do it..

Really trust God...

WHATEVER YOUR CROSS MAY BE !!

Don't miss the poem at the end ...

Whatever your cross,
whatever your pain,
there will always be sunshine,
after the rain ....

Perhaps you may stumble,
perhaps even fall,
But God's always ready,
To answer your call ...

He knows every heartache,
sees every tear,
A word from His lips,
can calm every fear ...

Your sorrows may linger,
throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish,
in dawn's early light ...

The Savior is waiting,
To give you His grace,
and send you His love...

Whatever your cross,
whatever your pain,
'God always sends rainbows ....
after the rain ... '

To get out of difficulty, one must usually go through it!

Exercises for relief from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

While you are receiving treatment for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome regular exercise sessions can help your rapid recovery. We have included some photos and explanations of recommended exercises.
The following exercises may be prescribed by your healthcare provider in conjunction with Low Level Laser therapy. In the photos you will see below, the right wrist is the one being exercised. If your left wrist is affected, do the same exercises with the left hand.

When doing each of these exercises, the hand should be flexed until a sensation of stretching is felt in the arm. The position should be held for 10 to 15 seconds for each of 10 repetitions. Try to this set of exercises three times a day.
Exercises 1 and 2 flex and extend the hand and stretch the wrist. Bend the hand as shown in the photos and apply moderate pressure to it with the other hand.

n i d o k i d o sExercise 1 - Wrist Flexion   Bend the hand being exercised backward (palm away from you ), as shown in the photos. With the fingers of the other hand, apply pressure.

GODLY WAYS TO REDUCE STRESS ...

An Angel says, 'Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice.'

1. Pray

2. Go to bed on time.

3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.

4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.

5. Delegate tasks to capable others.

6. Simplify and unclutter your life.

7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)

8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.

9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.

10. Take one day at a time.

11. Separate worries from concerns .. If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety . If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it.

12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.

13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.

14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.

15 Do something for the Kid in You everyday.

16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.

17. Get enough rest.

18. Eat right.

19 Get organized so everything has its place.

20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.

21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.

22. Every day, find time to be alone.

23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.

24. Make friends with Godly people.

25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.

26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good 'Thank you God.'

27. Laugh.

28. Laugh some more!

29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.

30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).

31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).

32. Sit on your ego.

33 Talk less; listen more.

34. Slow down.

35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.

36 . Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been grateful for before. GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU.

'If God is for us, who can be against us?'

(Romans 8:31)

My instructions were to send this to  four people that I wanted God to bless and I picked you. I decided to send it to more than four, because I didn't want to limit blessings.

SEND IT FORWARD PLEASE, not backward!

SAINT AGRECIOUS OF TRIER

Agrecius of Trier, also known as Agritius of Treves, preceded Saint Maximinus as bishop of Treves. In the year 314, the bishop took part in the council of Arles. And based on an 11th century vita, Agrecius and Saint Helena of Constantinople procured the Holy Coat of Trier, which is believed to be the seamless garment of Jesus Christ.

Saint Agrecius of Trier died in 333.

SAINT HILARY OF POITIERS

Saint Hilary of Poitiers, the patron against snakebites, was of pagan nobility. His confidence in God made him convert to Christianity. After which, he was elected bishop of Poitiers (France) by the laity and clergy. Not everyone believed in his principles ; thus, his belief in the divinity of Christ was persecuted by the Arians. When he refused to support the people's condemnation of Saint Athanasius, he was exiled to the East in 356. His exile provided Hilary the time to contemplate and write about the Blessed Trinity and a commentary on the Gospel of Matthew and on the Psalms.

After three years of exile, Hilary was given permission to return to his homeland. He did not go straight home but took a route through Greece and Italy, preaching against the Arians. When he finally reached home, Hilary started writing hymns of propaganda to spread the faith. His hymns were recognized to be the first in the West to have a known writer.

Hilary died in 368 and was proclaimed a Doctor of the Church in 1851.

SAINT ARCADIUS OF MAURETANIA

During the late third century, Christians in the Roman Empire were viciously persecuted. Thus, in order to avoid worshipping idols, Arcadius of Mauretania hid in the countryside. Not long after, his absence was noticed by his  persecutors. They seized one of his relatives and threatened him so to reveal the whereabouts of Arcadius. Arcadius didn't want others to suffer in his place so he freely submitted himself. His relative was set free and he too was offered his freedom, provided he would offer a sacrifice to the gods. When Arcadius refused, the judge decided to persecute him in a way the saint would wish for his death.

Instead of being beheaded, like the fate of other Christian martyrs, the limbs of Arcadius were cut off, joint by joint. In his pain, the saint's only response was Lord, teach me Your wisdom.  When all that remained were his trunk and head, Arcadius was still able to speak, uttering the words You are happy, my members. Now you really belong to God. You have all been sacrificed to Him.

Saint Arcadius of Mauretania died in 302 A.D.

THE DUMB OX

Today, the Church honors the Dominican St. Thomas Aquinas. He became an intellectual giant under the tutelage of one of the greatest medieval thinkers, St. Albert the Great. Thomas seldom opened his mouth. His classmates thought he was a simpleton and teased him by calling him "Dumb Ox."

In Italy, Thomas wrote the Catena Aurea to help the clergy better understand the Word of God. This work was  followed by the Summa Contra Gentiles to provide doctrinal material for missionaries to the Muslims. He composed the texts for the new feast of Corpus Christi. While teaching at the university of Paris, he justified the use of the "pagan" Aristotle's philosophy in the study of theology, wrote his commentaries on several works of Aristotle and the greater part of his most famous work, the Summa Theologiae. Then he died at the age of 49. Throughout his life, Thomas was totally dedicated to the ministry of the Word, nourished by intense prayer and mortification.

Thomas never finished his Summa. During a Mass on the feast of St. Nicholas, he received an interior revelation. He never spoke about it and no longer did any writing after this experience. He said, "I cannot go on. All that I have written seems to me like so much straw compared to what I have seen and what has been revealed to me." Thomas' humility was born out of a deep spirituality. He felt small before the crucifix, before what Christ has done for humankind. He acknowledged that all his wisdom and writing is nothing but a small expression of gratitude for Christ's work of salvation. Shortly before his death, he received the Eucharist and said, "I receive you, Price of my soul's redemption. All my studies, my vigils, and my labors have been for love of you."

From St. Thomas we learn that our successes are due to talents God has given us, talents we develop for the greater glory of God.

By: Fr. Rudy Horst

Reflection Question:

Am I proud? Do I thank the Lord when I enjoy success? Do I offer my daily work to God?

Lord, thank You for St. Thomas. How often have I been so proud of my successes, how often do I bask in the praise of others - and forget that without You, I would not be able to do anything great. Make me more humble, Lord.

Blessed Amadeus of Lausanne, bishop, pray for us.

A PRAYER

Author Unknown

Dear Lord:

Every single evening
As I'm lying here in bed
This tiny little prayer
Keeps running through my head.

God bless my mom and dad,
And other family members.
Keep them warm and safe from harm
For they're so close to me.

And God, there is one more thing
I wish that you could do.
Hope you don't mind me asking,
Bless my computer too.

Now I know that it's not normal
To bless a mother board,
But listen just a second
While I explain to you my Lord.

You see, that little metal box
Holds more than odds & ends
Inside those small compartments
Rest so many of my FRIENDS.

I know so much about them
By the kindness that they give
And this little scrap of metal
Takes me in to where they live.

By faith is how I know them
Much the same as you
We share in what life brings us
And from that our friendship grew.

Please, take an extra minute
From Your duties up above
To bless those in my address book
That's filled with so much love!

Wherever else this prayer may reach
To each and every friend,
Bless each email inbox
And the person who hits send.

When you update your heavenly list
On your own CD-Rom
Remember each who've said this prayer
Sent up to
God.com.

Amen.

OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY

Prouille, France (1208)

Domingo de Guzman was a Spanish preacher who went to southern France to oppose the Albegesian heresy which was spreading rapidly. In 1208, while he was praying at a chapel in Prouille, Mary appeared to him and gave him the Rosary and urged him to preach the Rosary to all people as a remedy against heresy and sin. The factual basis for this series of events is questionable. Nonetheless, Domingo (Dominic) founded an order of preaching friars who went on to halt the Albegesian heresy and establish monasteries all over the world. The order is commonly referred to as the Dominicans.
